I just tried what you said.. switching it to the "movie" icon and it actually *did* allow me to zoom in, but, as you said, only worked while I was not in "record" mode. Ah well. I think the camera will still work okay for short clips and while I get accustomed to shooting. Hopefully the price of digital video cams will continue to fall in the meantime, though. heheheh :) (I neglected to mention it in my post, but my camera is a Kodak EasyShare DX4530. ) Hey thanks, John, for mentioning that.
